Romney Wins The Caucus That Time Forgot
For some reason, no one gives a damn about the Wyoming caucuses. You might not even know they happened today. For the GOP, they did – and Mitt Romney won.
Now, don’t say you never learned anything here…

Didja notice who scored & who didn’t? Thompson gained 3 & Hunter 1 to Mitt’s 8. Everyone else had a big fat 0. A long way from the 1000+ delegates, but each one counts.
Ranked 50th among the States in terms of population. More people live in Boston, MA.
But, if you’re Mitt, a win is a win. Can you feel the mojo? Oh, yeah, you feel it!
Yeah, but I read in one article that there are as many delegates at stake in Wyoming as there are in New Hampshire…for what that’s worth (assuming it’s true – I didn’t bother to check)…
Near as I can tell, Romney won 8 of a possible 12, with an additional 2 to be selected at the State party convention in May. Wyoming’s total was cut in half by the Republican National Committee as punishment for holding their event prior to February 5th. As near as I can tell, New Hampshire was similarly punished and so has 12 delegates. Looks like you are correct sir!
Meanwhile, Iowa, which uses the caucus system was not punished for going early because technically their vote is non-binding. Wyoming’s caucus is binding, I guess?
Why does the word ‘byzantine’ keep popping into my head? I’m reading Doris Kearns Goodwin’s book, “Team of Rivals” and have to say I think I prefer the method used to nominate Lincoln.
